Well friends, it's hard to believe almost seven months ago, Revive Indiana kicked off in Goshen. What have we learned? How do we put into words what has happened? How will Revive look in another seven months when the stars are in full swing? Can this momentum be maintained? These, and other questions, are undoubtedly in everyone's mind from time-to-time.
Colossians 1:9-11:
For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience . . .
Colossians 3:17:
Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
While in prayer this week, John 14:6 came to me. As I pondered on this simple verse, the Holy Spirit said that understanding this is key to walking by the Spirit. In the prior verse, the apostle Thomas had asked Jesus a question that perhaps mirrors our own. Jesus is The Way, The Truth, and The Life. Friends, take time to slow down and meditate on the completeness of those three words. If we abide in Him, He is everything we ever need. Every word, every thought, everything we do, let's take it all to Him – having His fullness replace our inadequacies, so we can walk out our calling.
Philippians 4:6-7, 13:
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus . . . I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Looking forward, I'm excited about walking shoulder-to-shoulder with all of you to take the Gospel message across the nation! I remember going out to Maple City that first time. Mel Shetler is my grandma's brother, so we've had quite a few family reunions in that building. I knew that day, I was going to another family reunion. It was just a lot bigger and I didn't know most of the people. Now, I'm meeting up with someone from “my family” all the time! So awesome!
What I love most about Revive is the coming together of the denominations to do the work of God. I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to participate. Any friends we've lost because of this, we've gained back ten-fold. God is good!
John13:34-35:
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
